When buying a hot tub, which is an expensive purchase in itself, the individual often does not have a lot left over to purchase another necessary accessory to the hot tub, the hot tub cover. As such, a cheap hot tub cover is preferred, as long as it does the job for the environment in which it will be used. There are several options in cheap hot tub covers, including the possibility of purchasing a used hot tub cover, which may give the individual a higher quality cover for a lower price.

Soft And Cheap Hot Tub Covers

Soft hot tub covers are usually the cheapest on the market today. They do not have as much material to make them and do not have the requirement that people or animals should be able to rest their weight on the cover without slipping through it. Soft hot tub covers usually cost around one hundred fifty dollars to almost two hundred dollars, depending on the brand and the size of the hot tub that must be covered. These cheap hot tub covers are much less expensive than their hard counterparts which can run from three hundred dollars to about five hundred dollars, depending on the style.

These cheap hot tub covers usually have certain features built into them to help them hold up in multiple weather conditions. One of these is an air bladder that can be placed into the hot tub before the cover is placed on it to slightly raise up the middle of the cover so that rain and snow will melt off to the side rather than accumulating in the middle of the cover, thus causing damage. In addition, even the cheap hot tub covers will have some sort of UV protection in them so that they do not get as damaged due to constant sunlight exposure. These soft covers can also be better than the hard covers in that they do not have any Styrofoam in them which tends to collect water over time. When the Styrofoam collects water, the cover becomes heavy and loses its insulating properties.

Cheap hot tub covers are also easier to replace than the more expensive models since any small tears can often be fixed with the use of duct tape in the same color as the cover. In addition, there are often child proof locks on the cover so that children are unable to get the cover off of the hot tub and possible get into it without parental supervision.
